Advanced high-end printer, YSP10, praised for innovative high-speed, low-waste design

Yamaha Motor Europe SMT Section has received Global SMT’s Global Technology Award 2019 in the printing equipment category, for the YSP10 high-end solder paste printer, presented at the Productronica Forum in Munich on November 12, 2019.

The Global Technology Awards recognise innovations that improve manufacturing performance and environmental consideration. The YSP10 achieves both by introducing enhanced motion control that reduces cycle time by 20%, optional features that automate product changeovers, and an advanced head design that minimises cleaning paper usage.

“This Global Technology Award recognises printing as the foundation for all downstream assembly processes and therefore critical for optimum end-of-line results,” said Ryosuke Nakamura, Branch Manager, Yamaha Motor Europe IM Business. “The YSP10 is engineered to overcome today’s manufacturing challenges, effectively reducing waste while increasing speed, efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability.”

Introduced in January 2019, the YSP10 is specially designed for unprecedented high-speed tact time and fully automated product changeovers leveraging automatic push-up pin exchange, stencil replacement, and solder transfer. As the new benchmark among high-end printers, the YSP10 performs highly in any surface-mount manufacturing context and delivers the maximum when integrated inline with YSM mounters, YSi inspection systems and Factory 4.0 software tools of the Yamaha Total Line Solution.

About Yamaha Robotics SMT Section
Yamaha Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Section is a subdivision of Yamaha Motor Robotics Business Unit in Yamaha Motor Corporation. Yamaha surface mount equipment is highly acclaimed in the market for their “module concept” that enables them to keep pace with the trend toward smaller and more diverse electric/electronic parts being mounted on circuit boards.

Yamaha SMT Section has created a strong business in the surface mount industry that enables design and engineering, manufacture, sales and service to be conducted in one comprehensive system. Furthermore, the Company has used its core technologies in the areas of servo-motor control and image recognition technology for vision (camera) systems to develop solder paste printers, 3D solder paste inspection, 3D PCB inspection machines, flip chip hybrid placers and dispensers. This allows Yamaha SMT Section to offer a full line of machines for electric/electronic parts mounting and propose optimum production-line makeup to answer the diversifying needs of today’s manufacturers.

Yamaha SMT Section has sales and service offices in Japan, China, Southeast Asia, Europe and North America provide a truly global sales and service network that will safeguard best in class on-site sales & service support for clients.
